When my wife and I submitted our 2019 taxes by mail we sent a check for $400 to be applied to the payment due for that year. Since we never saw our 2019 balance reflect the payment (check was cashed by IRS) I called the IRS by phone and the rep told me that the $400 check we sent with our 2019 taxes was applied to our 2020 taxes instead of our 2019 tax bill (still don't understand why). He said to just include the $400 as a prepayment on our 2020 income tax return which should reduce our income and hypothetically give us a better return. Long story short, where in Turbo Tax 2019 do I enter the $400 payment we already made to the IRS? I looked everywhere in income/deductions and I can't find a field where I would write the amount? Anyone have any ideas on where or how to add this to turbo tax on our 2020 tax return?
