I’m using TurboTax Desktop for my 2024 return.
Here’s my issue:
In 2023 I had general category income from abroad which generated carryovers into 2024.
In 2024 I had no income in the general category, but I understand that I still need to file Schedule B for this category to show the IRS that the carryovers are still alive and carried forward to 2025.
My question:
How can I get TurboTax Desktop to generate Form 1116 Schedule B for General income category when there is no 2024 income in that category, but I do have carryovers from 2023 to 2024 which I want to move forward to 2025?
I’ve tried going through the Foreign Tax Credit interview and leaving the income boxes empty while entering only the prior-year carryover amounts, but TurboTax does not seem to generate the additional Schedules B (they don’t show up in the Forms list or the Print section).
What is the way to make TurboTax Desktop produce that extra Form 1116 Schedule B so it can be e-filed with the return?
