Washington State does not provide Form 1099-G for medical leave benefits. Generally, benefits such as the Washington State Paid Medical Leave are subject to federal income tax if the employer bears the entire cost of the program. If, on the other hand, the employer deducts a portion of the cost from the employees pay, it is not taxable. So, if you paid a portion of the cost for the plan via payroll deduction, it would not be taxable and does not need to be reported. If you did not pay any of the cost, it is taxable. If you determine you need to report the income, I would report it as "Other Income". To enter in TurboTax, while in your return:

Thank you, so much! I have been trying to find the answer for this the last 2 months. Thank you.
This is the best advice given so far. Makes sense too. I've been corresponding with WA state PML dept. They were of no help concerning tax filing for medical leave. It's one thing not providing a 1099G. It's another NOT to provide taxpayers with no help or solutions for filing taxes.
