How do I report a foreign pension paid to a foreign bank in another currency? My husband is a Swedish resident alien and we are filing jointly for the first time.

Report it as other income. 

1. In the program, from the top, select tab Federal > Wages & Income >Less Common Income
2. Select Miscellaneous Income , 1099-A, 1099-C- Start 
3. Scroll to other Reportable Income. For the description, type in Swedish pension. Then list the amount in US dollars.

If your husband paid an income tax to Sweden, he may be able to get a foreign tax credit for the tax. Report this by:

1. Click on federal> Deductions and Credits 
2. Scroll down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid 
3. Select Foreign Taxes and then select start
