Are you asking about a home energy credit carryover from last year? This credit can be carried forward. If you do not owe enough taxes in the year you claim it, carry it forward to a year in which you owe taxes.

Can you get a copy of your Tax Return from Jackson Hewitt? Do they have an account you can log into?

Did you make home energy-efficient improvements in 2023? Such as solar panels, geothermal power, exterior doors, windows, skylights and insulation materials, central air conditioners, water heaters, furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, biomass stoves and boilers or Home energy audits

If you make qualified energy-efficient improvements to your home after Jan. 1, 2023, you may qualify for a tax credit up to $3,200. You can claim the credit for improvements made through 2032. For improvements installed in 2022 or earlier.

You'll need to file IRS Form 5695 with your tax return to claim the credit. TurboTax will generate this form for you.
