home insurance payment for loss /reimbursement

Hi,

2 Family house renting a 2nd floor and using 1st floor (Owner) Year 2024 , my Awning fell down and damaged 2 steps and railing, Insurance issue the check for $10,000 for everything not mentioning awning steps ,railing that was damaged , they just say : $10,000 for FULL COST OF REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT . I was able to fix everything for $ 5,000 . Is THE REMAINING $ 5,000 reported as income and where?
