Help

I've been my mother's care taker for 20+ years. She's and some strokes and us legally  blind. My question is I wasn't able to to work last year because of being her a full time care taker. She receives SSDI. If she filed head of household,  eraned income credit and me and a dependent and legally blind credit. Could she file and get a decent return? Thank you

Sorry---your mom cannot get earned income credit if her income is Social Security disability.   You only get earned income credit if you work at a W-2 job or have self-employment income.  So your plan does not work.  She cannot get any sort of refund even if she files HOH--- refunds come from paying more tax than you owe, or from refundable credits.  She is not eligible for a refundable credit.  Sorry---you are in a tough situation.
