Form 1099-DIV - Payer is Canadian. Form asks for state. How do you enter Canadian address?

Payer state is required on Form 1099-DIV.  Payer is Canadian.  The form does not allow the option of changing to a foreign country.  How do you fix this?

I am having the same issue!  Did you figure out a solution yet?  Thanks.

After inputting your 1099-DIV you will come to a screen, Tell us more about your exempt-interest dividends:

  • Mark the radio button I earned exempt-interest dividends in more than one state.
  • In the State box, select Multiple States.  [See screenshot below.]

Hi, thanks for the help. I ended up entering the 1099 form by typing in the information myself which included some additional boxes for foreign tax paid, etc. This seemed to also resolve the Canadian address issue.
