FOREIGN TAX CREDIT FORM 1116

Turbotax Premier needs to update the foreign tax credit section at the earliest-form 1116 is not yet available.

it is available on the irs website-turbotax needs to update at the earliest in the foreign tax credit section ASAP.

The delay is UNACCEPTABLE.

NOW TURBOTAX SAYS FORM AVAILABLE 3 MARCH 2022-THE DELAY IS UNACCEPTABLE.

The forms all require approval before they can be finalized in the program.

My plea is that they be finalized at the earliest, not wait for March 3, 2022. The delay is inconveniencing clients.

I am certain the form will be finalized as soon as possible.

I have received an email saying the form is available, but it doesn't seem to have filled properly from the data I entered (1099-DIV etc).

How do I make this happen??

It depends. You might try deleting the form in the return and then add it back in. Make sure you enter a foreign tax paid in Box 7 of the 1099 DIV. Also if you are using Turbo Tax desktop, be sure to select to check for updates by selecting online at the top>check for updates.

To delete the form in Turbo Tax online go to federal>wages and income>interest and dividends>1099 DIV. Delete the form from the summary page by selecting the trash can icon. Then add back in. The desktop version can be done and the same manner.
