Yes, you still get the child tax credit on your return (If you qualify for it)
The W-4 has nothing to do with your income tax return. W-4 is completed only for your employer to know how much tax should be withheld from your paycheck.
The Child Tax Credit is automatically calculated. When you enter your dependents and your income, TurboTax automatically calculated the child tax credit, the additional child tax credit (if any) and includes Earned Income Credit if you qualify for it.
Please see the link to the IRS website for more information on the child tax credit. Child Tax Credit
In order to qualify for this credit, a qualifying child for this credit is someone who meets the qualifying criteria of six tests: age, relationship, support, dependent, citizenship, and residence.
The credit is limited if your modified adjusted gross income is above a certain amount. For married taxpayers filing a joint return, the phase-out begins at $110,000. For married taxpayers filing a separate return, it begins at $55,000. For all other taxpayers, the phase-out begins at $75,000. In addition, the Child Tax Credit is generally limited by the amount of the income tax you owe as well as any alternative minimum tax you owe.
