Yes you must have paid with out of pocket funds medical expenses during the year to deduct the expenses paid. Having just a bill is not paying for the expense.

I filed my taxes in March, but I found 2 tax deductions I did not add to my taxes. Can I amend my taxes to reflect these donations?
