Expensing costs for meeting clients

Can you also claim the mileage that you drive to meet a client to discuss business?

Can you also write off an uber or taxi that you take to meet a client to discuss business?

If you travel and fly, and stay at a hotel to meet a client, can you expense 100% of the hotel cost and 100% of the flight?

Are you self-employed?  Are you asking if you can include those expenses on your Schedule C?

Or you a W-2 employee?

W-2 employees cannot deduct job-related expenses on a federal return.  Job-related expenses were eliminated as a federal deduction for W-2 employees by the tax laws that changed for 2018 and beyond.  Your state tax laws might be different in AL, AR, CA, HI, MN, NY or PA.

@xmasbaby0 Yes this would be expenses related to self business reported on schedule C.  Meals are 100% deductible.  I’m asking if flights and hotels and taxi are 100% deductible or mileage vs gas if I drive to see a customer.

@jyeh74 I notice now that you have been asking other questions in other threads, and have been receiving replies from some other Champs.   Include your question about this issue in one of those same threads.  It becomes very confusing to us when you keep starting new threads for related issues.
