are there any deductions I can take for working doordash?

    Since DoorDash issues 1099- Misc forms and not W-2 forms, you would be considered an independent contractor and required to report your income and expenses as a self-employed person.

     

    Self-employment income input

     

    You would be able to deduct any business expenses you incur as part of your business.  I have attached a link with some more details as to what you can expense. 

     

    Please note, for any use of your automobile, you can either deduct the standard mileage or the actual expenses.  TurboTax will ask you a series of questions as you enter your information to ensure you receive the most beneficial deduction.
