You don't have to add any documents. Charitable donations are an itemized deduction. They will not affect your refund unless your total itemized deductions are more than your standard deduction. If the $2,500 of donations is your only itemized deduction, it is less than the standard deduction for any filing status, unless someone else can claim you as a dependent. If you have other itemized deductions that you have not entered yet, you might see your refund increase after you have entered all your itemized deductions. The most common itemized deductions, besides donations, are medical expenses (only the amount over 10% of your AGI is deductible), state income tax or sales tax, real estate tax, and mortgage interest.
