You will need to know the total business miles that you have driven for the year, so there are not any worksheets within TurboTax to total this mileage information for you.
TurboTax has you enter your mileage information within the "Employment Expenses Related to W-2" section of the program (under the Deductions and Credits tab at the top of your screen).
You can choose to either enter your beginning and ending odometer readings OR the total miles driven for the year. In either scenario, you will then be asked to enter the total business miles driven for the year.
These expenses will be recorded on Form 2106 with your tax return, and ultimately recorded on Schedule A. In order to deduct business miles, you will need to have itemized expenses on your tax return versus the standard deduction. Plus, only the portion of the total of your job-related expenses that exceed 2% of your adjusted gross income can be included as a deduction in your itemized expenses.
