Yes, your "automobile registration" is still considered a "registration", even when you renew it. 

Each year, vehicle owners are required to renew their state vehicle (car, auto, etc.) registrations. In many states a portion of the renewal cost is actually a personal property tax - personal property taxes are deductible on your federal tax return, if you are itemizing deductions.
