Do I need to report my foreign-earned income?

I just moved back to the US in July 2016 after having lived in the UK for 2 years and now live permanently in the US (I am a US citizen). Should I report the income I earned in the UK during the first part of the 2016 tax year on my 2016 tax return?

Do I need to report my foreign-earned income?

If you are a US citizen or resident who earned wages overseas, enter your wages as foreign income.  If you lived outside United States for at least 330 days during 12 consecutive months, you might be able to exclude your foreign income from your taxes.  In your situation, if you were in U.K. from July 2015 to July 2016, your foreign income made during this period of time will be excluded by meeting the exclusion rules.  You might also want to amend your 2015 tax return to exclude the income made between July and December 2015 from your taxes.  For more information, see Foreign income and exclusion

To enter foreign earned income / exclusion in TurboTax online program, go to:

1.  After sign into your account, select Take me to my return

2.  At the right upper corner, in the search box , type in foreign income and Enter

3.  Select Jump to foreign income

4.  Next screen, Did You Make Any Money Outside the United States? answer Yes

5.  On screen, What Form(s) Was Foreign Income Reported On ? make your selection and Continue to follow the                   onscreen step by step instructions.
