Do I have to claim workmans comp checks? If so where? Any deduction for getting COVID at work and then being on workmans comp? If so, where do I claim?

Workman's compensation is not entered on a tax return, it is not taxable income.

Can you enter under miscellaneous income even though it's not taxable? Or is their a place to put it? Some place tell me I need to claim it and then some say you don't. I'm wanting to just put it in as proof of some income for 2021 , for future reference.

There is no place to enter worker's compensation income because it is not taxable.   If you enter it in miscellaneous income, you will pay tax on the income, so you don't want to do that.   Keep your bank statements and/or check stubs if you need to keep record of it.   @dollface0710

From the IRS - Workers' Compensation

Amounts you receive as workers' compensation for an occupational sickness or injury are fully exempt from tax if they're paid under a workers' compensation act or a statute in the nature of a workers' compensation act.

You can still record it as non-taxable income in the Sales Tax deduction section if you itemize.

Thank you!! I'll look into this. We keep getting mixed answers on where it can be put. We know-it-all non taxable just want to have it on their because we are trying to get a home loan.
