This lawn mower is considered a business asset.  You'll need to be using the TurboTax Self Employed online edition or TurboTax Home & Business desktop (CD/Download) edition.  

 

Use the instructions in the TT FAQ below to enter all of your son's business expenses into the Schedule C you prepare for his business.  You'll see a category for Assets as you go through the interview.
