I had to replace my sewer in 2020. Is this deductible in the home improvements and how do I list it?

No, you can not deduct the replacement of your sewer.
Repairs, maintenance, and improvements to your personal residence property are not deductible on your tax return.. If you make major improvements which increase your home’s market value or extend its useful life, you can add the cost of the improvements to the cost basis of your home, and you get the benefit when you sell. Improvements increase your value and basis of the property.

Ok, with the cost of replacement I thought I would check it out.
This is an improvement, because it extends the useful life of the home or one of its sub-systems (waste disposal). It adds to your cost basis (the amount you have invested in the home) and may reduce your capital gains when you sell, but it is not deductible now.
