Deduction of Aupair?

Yes, the au pair is eligible to be entered as the childcare provider for The Child and Dependent Care Credit(Form 2441). Just note that only the pay checks you pay to the au pair are eligible as an expense, but not any one time fees. You can enter your provider information for the credit by following the steps below.

To Add a Childcare Provider in TurboTax Online:

1. Go to "Federal Taxes" at the top of the screen

2. Select "Deductions & Credits"

3. Scroll down to "You and Your Family" and select "Show More"

4. Select "Start" next to "Child and Dependent Care Credit"

5. Select "Yes" to "Did you pay for child or dependent care in 2016?"

6. Select "Continue" on the Add Dependents page and proceed to enter your info for the credit

7. When asked "Who provided the care?" select "A person" and continue entering their info

Deduction of Aupair?

Hi I agree, except only one spouse works and from what I read both spouses must have earned income, do you agree?

Yes, both spouses must have earned income. However there are exceptions if they were a full-time student, or disabled. You can view more information here: https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3301418
