DAF giving - TT uses only cost basis

I bought a stock in July 2025 for $7000

I donated the appreciated stock to DAF in November 2025 for $8000

The fund appreciated to $8500 in December 2025 and I donated all the funds to charities in 2025

DAF provided me donation statement that says I donated $8000 in November and I donated $8500 to charities in December.

1. Under charitable donations - donation to charities - should I claim $7000, $8000 or $8500?

2. If I choose DAF as donor and item/stock as option in turbotax, it asks me to enter cost basis and will only enter the cost basis ($7000) in the itemized deduction. If I am eligible to claim $8000 or $8500 from IRS, should I cheat turbotax system and just say the cost basis is $8000 or $8500?

It'd be good if TT has a wizard to walk you through for DAF giving.
