I have a solar loan with a credit union that's secured by my house. Can I enter a 1098 for the interest paid in turbotax myself? Or do I need to get a 1098 from the credit union?

You can enter the mortgage interest as though you have a 1098 Mortgage Interest form. The IRS lets you deduct your mortgage interest, but only if you itemize deductions.
