When I enter an item donation of more than $500. into Its Deductible, it gives me an error. Should let me enter it and TurboTax fills out form 8283. Am I doing something wrong?

A I stated in my question, I have to complete Form 8283 for non-cash donations over $500. Its Deductible will not accept non cash donations over $500. So the thing to do is to not enter them in Its Deductible. Enter all other non-cash donations and download Its Deductible to TurboTax. Then enter the over $500. donation as a separate item in TurboTax. Again TurboTax will prepare the Form 8283 and enter on Schedule A.
If your contribution is non-cash, meaning items such as clothes, furniture or an auto, then it must be entered on Form 8283 prior to be transferred to Schedule A.
