How can i find my ending mortgage balance. It is not on the 1098 I received

Your starting balance on your first 2020 statement should be your ending balance for 2019.

If you are not sure this is correct then contact the Lending Institution that issued your Form 1098 and ask them for your 2019 ending balance.

Why don't they make the ending balance a required field on the 1098?
