I am almost done with my taxes and during the Federal Review, I noticed that there was a section 'Other Income of $13,489. I cannot find this anywhere in my income only the w-2s from my wife and I that I uploaded. There is no way to 'Learn More' on this 2023 tax breakdown section and I cannot find this anywhere else. My wife received scholarship money for school. Would this be the "Other Income" portion? Is there a way to see details on Turbo Tax interface?

Are you using the Online product or the desktop product?
Until you pay for the product, your access to forms and worksheets for Online is limited.
Yes, a scholarship is one way to acquire unexpected income.
Tell you what, go look at form 1040. If you are using the Online product, on the left click on Tax Tools, then Tools, then in the center click on View Tax Summary, then back on the left, click on Preview (or View) my 1040.
Of course, if you are using the desktop product, you can go into Forms mode and view the 1040 directly.
Now look at line 1 on the 1040. Are there any letters here? Sometimes when income items are added to this line, a three or four letter marker is placed here to give you a hint why it does not match your W-2.
Hi BillM223 Sorry for the late repy.
I am using the exe downloaded program of TurboTax. I went in and looked at the 1040 and only see 1a and 1z at the same amount which is both my wife and I total income for the year. 1 h has 0 which I do not understand as it says "Other earned income .....0." The next line, line 8 has 13,489. Line 9 has the total of line 1a/1z + line 8.
I am confused where the 0 and the 13,489 are coming from. Could this be a glitch or something calculated elsewhere?
I understand that lines 1a and 1z are the same, and that is your joint income.
