Child tax refund

Hello, my eligibility is “pending” for the child tax credit. What would cause this? I filed an amendment back in April, but turbo tax says the IRS accepted it by May so I’m unsure why I received stimulus money for my son all three times but not the $300 deposit July 15th.

Hello Rusty. Thank you for the question. I know this can be frustrating waiting for your  Advanced Child Tax Credit Payment.  If the Child Tax Credit Update Portal returns a “pending eligibility” status, it means the IRS is still trying to determine whether you qualify. The IRS won't send you any monthly payments until it can confirm your status. 

This simply means the IRS is still reviewing your account for eligibility. You can continue to check back for status updates in the Child Tax Credit Update Portal.

Hopefully IRS will have all payments processed soon, so keep checking your account or mail for your payment.
