Child Tax Credit missing

Hi there,

My child tax credit under Deductions and Credits in Turbo Tax is showing as $4500 this year and last year $6,000. (I know there is a difference because we received money early.)

However, line 21 on my taxes for 2021 is empty...nothing printed on that line. 

It seems that something should be on line 21.  My taxes are significantly higher because that line is empty. Is this a glitch with turbo tax or something else?

No this is not a glitch in the system.   The child tax credit does not show on your 2021 return as a non-refundable credit.   Because of the Advanced Child Tax Credit, the balance of the child tax credit is being treated as a Refundable Child Tax Credit.    The remaining balance of child tax credit that you are entitled to is shown on Line 28 of Form 1040.

Check Line 28 of your Form 1040.
