Charity Contributions

I contributed equipment (rented) and materials for a landscaping project at my church. Are these deductible and if so, how do I list them on my tax return?

Charity Contributions

Yes, you can deduct the amount you paid for the rental and materials as charitable contributions.  You will want to make sure if you donate materials (in-kind) your donation amount is what you paid for them (so for example, if you are a landscaper and get the material wholesale, you cannot value them at retail or fair market value).  You will want to enter as one entry in the charitable contributions section.
