I had over 29K in carry over for charitable contributions from 2018 and when I enter it there is no change in the amount I owe???

The amount of your charitable contributions may be limited.
Charitable contributions are limited to 50% of your Adjusted Gross Income. With that limitation, you may not exceed the Standard Deduction with your Itemized Deductions and that would be why you see no change in your refund.

It seemed like the software was not taking into account the carryovers. Where it should have been, it wasn’t UNTIL i bailed out of EASY STEP and looked at forms and then it magically appeared in EASY STEP. Go figure. Must have been handled in an update and/or software glitch. It did register the deduction but just didn’t show the data at first.
