I have been on here for hours please help
The posts from the thread are related to previous tax years. The business deductions on Form 2106 are allowed for Armed Forces reservist, a qualified performing artist, a fee-basis state or local government official, or an individual with a disability claiming impairment-related work expenses. All other taxpayers can no longer deduct these expenses beginning in tax year 2018. However, some states still allow the deduction. You would enter these expenses on your Federal return to carry to the state.
Follow these steps:
If you still qualify for this deduction, the best way to move past the error may be to delete the form and re-enter the expenses.
After you have deleted the form, you can return to the Deductions & Credits section of your Federal return to re-enter.
This doesn't work. There are multiple sites all over the web with many, many people having the same issue with this software. It needs to be fixed. I followed your instructions, deleted all the Form 2106's and re-entered everything to no avail. This is 3 or 4 years in a row that I'm dealing with the same b.s. after 7 hours of doing my taxes. Next year I switch.
Please clarify what issue you are having so someone can try to help.
Form 2106 is no longer valid for claiming Employee Business Expense as part of your Federal return unless you fall into very specific occupations. Otherwise, it can be included as part of the Federal return only to serve the purpose of transferring the information to your state return.
