The credit for the Elderly and Disabled will usually not generate if you receive Social Security. The dollar limits are very low.

Can you claim the disabled credit even if you are NOT over 65 if you only have SSI?

And if you are single and have no income except Social Security then your tax is zero already so that credit would have no effect.
