No tax program is for 2024 is available yet and most aren’t fully functional until mid January or later.

No, you cannot file an early 2024 tax return.   The 2024 software is not yet available.  The IRS will not begin to accept 2024 tax returns until late January 2025.

If your loss is due to a federally declared disaster that occurred in 2024, you may be able to claim the loss on an amended 2023 tax return, which you can file now. The IRS says they will expedite the processing of amended returns for disaster losses, but it still takes about 2 months. See the links below on the IRS web site for more information.

I don't think you will be able to amend your 2023 tax return with TurboTax Online at this time. You would have to use the CD/Download TurboTax software for 2023.

You might want to consult a local tax professional for assistance.
