You can prepare a 1040 form if you itemize your deductions.

You can deduct unreimbursed medical /insurance expenses (including medical travel) paid out of pocket if you itemize and the total expenses for you, your spouse, and your dependents exceed 7.5 % of your adjusted gross income. The deduction is limited to the expenses above and beyond this amount.

To enter medical expenses:

·        Type in medical expenses the search box, top right of your screen, then click the

          magnifying glass

·        Click the jump to medical expenses link in the search results

·        Follow to prompts and online instructions

Arrive at the Tell us about anything spent on medical travel page and make your entries

You will need to upgrade from TurboTax Free Edition to itemize your deuctions includeing medical expenses.
