Can I include ubers and hotel charges that I paid for after moving out of my old home and before moving into my new home 2000 miles away?
Yes, certain moving expenses can be deducted if you have started or changed job locations. "You can deduct the cost of transportation and lodging for yourself and members of your household while traveling from your former home to your new home." IRS required that you must meet all three requirements to be eligible.
- Your move is closely related to the start of work
- You meet the distance test
- You meet the time test
