No, cars purchased for personal use are not deductible. 

 

If you are looking to claim the sales tax as a deduction, it is only an option if you itemize.  Further, if you're itemizing, you must choose between deducting your state and local income taxes or your state and local sales taxes. You can't claim both.

A vehicle purchased for personal use, not used in a business, is not reported on nor deductible on a tax return.
