Calculating Armed Forces Reserve Mileage

Do you calculate this both ways? I live 330 miles from my base, that would be 660 miles a month and  7920 a year. Using the federal rate of  .54 that would come out to be 4276.8 a year...

That just feels excessive, am I calculating something wrong?

You use the round-trip mileage. Home to base to home.
