Bought house in Octob with an escrow paying my property taxes. The form for interest is also asking for my taxes but the notes say put somewhere else. What is correct?

Please enter property tax that you paid on your home in only one section - Deductions and Credits, Your Home, Property tax.  Be sure that you are not duplicating your entries - taxes paid from escrow are usually reported on your form 1098... so enter only one amount.

Ps. I'm assuming here that it is your home and has not been a rental, for example, in 2016...
