The purchase of a home is not a tax reportable event. The payment of mortgage interest and real estate taxes is.

In TurboTax (TT), enter at:

Federal Taxes Tab (Personal for H&B version)

Deductions & Credits

-Scroll down to:

-Your Home

-Mortgage Interest & refinancing

-Property taxes
