Post office box fees would only be deductible if they are part of your business expenses (as a miscellaneous business expense.) According to the IRS, the expense of a post office box that is for personal use is not a deductible expense.

What about the case where the post office does not provide any mail delivery to our residence. We own our home and for some reason there is no delivery here and no community receptacles. They do not offer "free" boxes at our local post office. Shouldnt our rent for the smallest box available be tax deductible, since we cant get secure mail by any other means?
In todays volatile market, you should definitely consider having a side business to compliment your existing work. Talk to your accountant for details. With a small business, you have business expenses which could include a PO Box. A few business ideas have been documented on kjmarketing.net
No. Currently there is no deduction for an individual to deduct their fee for a Post Office box unless you are in business. I understand, I lived in a place like that too.
