If LegalShield monthly membership fees are deductible, where would they be reflected in the return? I use for general purposes. Have used for my rental agreeement in past as well as consulted for various situations. I do not own any business.

Personal legal fees (non-business related) are no longer deductible. You can deduct the portion of the cost allocable to your rental property on Schedule E as a rental expense. If you use the service for both personal and rental activity, you must pro-rate and deduct only the rental portion. Can I deduct legal fees on my tax return?
