Are expenses for items related to knee replacement surgery deductible?

Per the IRS, you can include in medical expenses amounts you pay for legal operations that aren't for unnecessary cosmetic surgery.

Plus, there are other expenses related to the surgery you may deduct.  See the information below for guidance:

Note that medical expenses are only deductible if you itemize deductions on your return.  Plus only the amount of your deductible medical expenses that exceed 7.5% of your Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) are included in your itemized deduction total.
