A huge difference between what I reported as my medical expenses and what the tax breaks summary shows - their appx 2.5 times my amount. What gives??

The difference is probably Medical Insurance premiums reported on a W-2, 1099-R, SSA-1099, 1095 etc.

But also check your data entry for any typos.
