When my company incorrectly deducted state taxes to another state (NC) and not mine (IL), what are my options?

I live in IL and I work remotely. Last year I was transferred from one division to another within the same company. The error occurred then. I did not notice it until I tried to do my taxes in early Feb. I contacted the HR dept and they are still trying to fix the problem. I am running out of time and patience.

You have to file in both states and claim a refund in the other state where you did not work.
