If you were a MO resident for the entire year, then Yes you would pay taxes on the income regardless of where earned.

However if you were a resident of AK then you file a part-year MO return and only be taxes on what percent of the income was earned while living in MO.

So were you a resident of AK or was a short term work assignment and you kept the MO driver's license and could vote in MO.  This is what will determine if this is MO taxable income.

I was an Alaskan resident from January 1 2018 through the end of May 2018.  Then I moved to Missouri in the start of June.  I can't figure out how to make these forms show that change though.

You are part-year resident of MO and MO will show all income however it will then show only MO income and give you a % of the total MO tax based on that income.

I lived and worked in AK from 82-87.

TurboTax will ask you what is MO source income or earned in MO and it should be only what was earned after moving to MO.

It shows 100% on the form though and is taxing me on all of the money.  I need to know how to show that it was only 58.33% of the year I was in MO.

Go through it again as it will show 100% of the income, then it will ask for the MO amount.

You are doing a part year return correct? and not a full year resident.

No I already did the form and did not know to tell it I was a part year because I did not know it defaulted to full year.  I need to file an amended return to prove that I should only have to pay a part year return.
