Why is my Missouri taxable income more than I earned in Missouri? MFJ living in KS. I work in MO, my spouse works in KS. Appears we are being taxed on both incomes in MO.

TurboTax allocates the income on W2 based on the W2 state entries, so if your wife did not have MO in Box 15-16-17 the income is not allocated to Missouri.

However, Missouri calculate the tax as if you were full-time residents, then uses the ratio of Missouri income to compute the tax.  You may see the total income on the return, but you are only taxed on Missouri income.
