Why does my Massachusetts Child and Family Tax Credit appear in Massachusetts Taxes and Credits Summary but not in my Massachusetts Bottom Line when I am told I qualify?
While entering information for tax credits and deductions in the state tax portion of the process, I am told that I qualify for the Massachusetts Child and Family Tax Credit for our two children. It also lists Income Taxes Paid to Other States. When I get to the "Bottom Line" section of the Massachusetts taxes, the "Less: Tax Credits" line includes a total amount equal to only the Taxes Paid to Other States credit and does not include the Child and Family Tax Credit amount I was told I could claim. I have looked into this credit and I can't find anything that would negate our qualification for it. Is there something I'm missing that precludes us from claiming it for which I'm not notified? Or is this a bug in the application?

What we need to know is, does this credit appear on your MA Form 1, line 46?
