I work for Company Y. We are formally Company X dba Company Y. Company X is an LLC in Georgia. Y operates in Wyoming with a physical building, we do not commute to Georgia or work remotely. My W-2 is a Georgia W-2, but can I just file a tax return in Wyoming? I live in and work in Wyoming, even though my company is headquartered in Georgia.

Your physical location — not your company’s location — determines what state you must file in. Otherwise, everyone who worked for Walmart, which is headquartered in Bentonville, Arkansas, would be filing an Arkansas return each year.
If you live and work in Wyoming, your employer should not have withheld Georgia income tax. You can file a Georgia nonresident income tax return to claim a refund for Georgia tax withheld. Change your state wages to $0. Your refund should equal your withholding.
Consider filing by mail and attach a note explaining that you live and work in
Wyoming and had Georgia tax taken out by mistake.
Wyoming has no income tax so you do not have to file a state return for the Cowboy State.
