I believe you may be looking at your state refund from the previous year. You may need that number if you itemized your deductions on your return from the previous year, in which case it may be taxable on your current year federal tax return.

In my tax summary it says I should be getting a federal refund but when I process through to the end it is saying I owe federal taxes. Why the discrepancy?
