What is a D-400 p1, 2 Form? When do I get this?

At the end of my state tax returns, it states some of my tax forms aren't ready and lists this "D-400 p1,2" form and "Individual Income Tax Return", not sure when I'm to receive these and I didn't find an area to even input them...

@kirsten-westerma

The D-400 is the primary NC tax form that the Sofware fills out for you, based on everything else you enter into the software about all your income and deductions & credits...etc...  It's not something you receive...it's something that has to be sent in to the NC Dept of Revenue

The D-400, and its backup schedules, summarizes everything for the NC Dept of Revenue and calculates the final tax for NC, and also whether you get an NC refund, or perhaps even have to pay some more $$ to NC.

The availability of the final NC tax forms has been unusually delayed this year.....for printing and filing by mail until after 10 February....and for  E-filing until after 24 February.    (Don't mail-file...wait for NC E-filing to open up).
